Who can join Maryvale Friendly Society?
Membership of the Society is open to any employee working in the Maryvale Paper Mill or for nominated companies associated with the Mill.
What does it cost to join?
The cost of membership is $3.50 per week.
Who to contact?
If it concerns your claim for benefits you should contact the Secretary.
If you wish, you can talk to any of the board members about any other matter concerning the functioning and operation of the Society or if you just want a bit more information — their contact details are listed on the Our Board page.
Where is my benefit payment or refund?
The Society has an arrangement with Maryvale Payroll to deduct your membership fees — and we use the payroll system to make regular payments to you and to refund your claimed expenses. These payments are not taxable income and do not appear on your group certificate.
What should I do if I am going to be off work for a while?
Contact the Secretary and let him know what you're up to! — this will give you the chance to discuss any assistance we may be able to provide to you to help you get through your ordeal and recuperate.
My Partner is sick or injured - how can you help?
Contact the Secretary and discuss your problems or needs — we have access to a very competent HomeHelp service that is able to respond in many circumstances.
I'm in financial strife — how can you help?
The Society does not lend money and the Society does not give financial assistance to families unless the need is directly related to the Member being off work, sick or injured.
